These particular forms look a bit too much like MUF to be easily placed in SEX and require further examination. The Komo location was collected by Joe Cutler in Jan. 2018. Compare to "species Sindara".

"cf" SEX because they have an unusually high number of black bars on the side. SEX should have about six and while variations exist this is the number of bars you'd expect to see in MUF instead, but this is far outside the range of MUF and the two have never been found together.


Defining Characters

An example of the E. multifsciatus group: both frontal neuromasts have 1 larger lobe in common.

In the E. sexfasciatus group both frontal neuromasts have 2 small lobes each. - JVDZ
